The best PAID iPhone games this week

Particle Mace (€2.99)

Your spacecraft is tethered with maces. Use them to smash asteroids and other players. Particle Mace, already released on PC, has been catching a lot of attention this week as a highly addictive diversion on iOS. Packed with 150 missions and nine different ships, this one-touch arcade game is well worth the cover charge.

Chesslike: Adventures in Chess (€1.99)

Taking chess to an obvious, rather odd conclusion, Chesslike: Adventures in Chess pits armies of pieces against each other on warped boards. Chess it may be, but it’s more turn-based RPG than anything else in this form. Can you beat the endless dungeons, mazes and castles? Only one way to find out.

Auro: A Monster-Bumbing Adventure (€2.99)

You’ll need to bump to win in Auro, a fantasy strategy game in which you guide a prince past monsters and through dungeons. Procedurally generated maps mean you’ll never face the same challenge twice, and a ton of spells and monsters add to Auro’s longevity. Buy now. Get thumping.

The best FREE iPhone games this week

One Piece Treasure Chest

Form a crew and set sail on a killing and looting spree. Why not? It may seem this is all about tapping at the correct time to create the best combos and damage, but there’s a proper story to back up the action. A Japanese RPG, One Piece Treasure Chest comes from Namco. This supposedly released on February 9, but we can’t find it listed on the App Store just yet.

Brightest Kingdom TD

A tower defense game, Brightest Kingdom will have you sweating again swarms of fantasy enemies. You can beef up your chances by researching new towers, magic and technology, and grab new revenue streams by conquering the game’s various lands.

Dead Target: Zombie

First-person shooting set after World War III. Dead Target’s been out for a little while, but was updated to its latest version this week. Featuring over 500 battles on various maps, a casino system, quests and upgradable weapons, this is a no-brainer addition to your iOS device.
