Grinding three purples in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel may crash your game [UPDATE]

Update: Gearbox Software has announced there's currently a hot-fix in place for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel as a temporary solution to crashes caused with the DLC update.

Until a permanent fix can be made, the hotfix should correct crashing issues. All will be fixed in the next major game update.

Original Story

A bug that snuck through with the most recent Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel patch is preventing players form grinding three purple items by causing the game to crash.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel received a patch yesterday that added Lady Hammerlock and more. It has since been brought to developer Gearbox' attention that the patch is causing the game to crash for some players any time three items of purple rarity are placed into the Grinder.

Grinding three purple items became possible fairly recently when it was introduced in a patch released last November.

Gearbox said that you can use the Grinder at your own risk while it works to address the bug. There is another solution though; you don't have to patch your Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 copy. As for the PC version, Gearbox recommends you can just put Steam in Offline Mode.

Doing that will prevent you from playing online, so if you've got nobody to co-op with, you should definitely do this until a patch is released.
