Halo 5 multiplayer beta update includes new maps, game type, weapon

343 Industries has announced an update to the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta, which includes a new weapon and two added maps.

There's also Breakout, a new round-based game type in which the player's Spartan only has one life per round.

The first team to take five rounds wins the match and it is playable across two maps: Crossfire and its variant, Trench.

The two new maps will be swapped in the Slayer playlist: Regret and Eden. The developer said Regret is a remix of Truth, and Eden is a remix of Empire - both from week one of the beta. Word has it BR starts have also been added to the Slayer playlist.

Per player vote, the new weapon is the Hydra MLRS which is being added to the Regret map.
