Bungie announced this milestone, and many more statistics, through its end of the year update. Nearly 13 million players have played Destiny - 12,869,066 to be exact.

Those 13 million players have created 22,932,276 Guardians and have collectively put 872,404,449 hours in the game. Currently, over 500 developers are working on Destiny. Though Bungie did not specify how many of those are working on the game and the upcoming expansion and how many are working on the inevitable sequel.

Crota's End raid has been beaten 769 times, and only once by a single dude. Atheon, The final boss of the Vault of Glass raid, has been killed 2.4 million times.

Bungie did not however reveal any solid sales data, and neither did publisher Activision when it announced that the game was the top-selling new franchise in the US.

There's also a list of some of the developers' favourite community-made things, that includes videos, websites and more.
