A new WWE from Mortal Kombat developers NetherRealm Studios is in the works called WWE Immortals. It’s a free-to-play mobile game.

According to the press release (thanks, Joystiq), the game is being developed in conjunction with Phosphor Game Studios and will feature Superstar battles.

That is really all that is known at present, because gameplay features won’t be revealed until closer to the game’s worldwide launch next year.

With NetherRealm involved, one can only assume it will be a rather interesting fighting game for your iPad, iPhone, iPod touch or Android device.
