Mass murder: play GTA Online with VG247 next week

Let’s get with connected modernity and collectively shoot fools. Why not?

We really like playing GTA Online, so we thought we’d start some public nights to play with members of Halcyon Death Squad, the VG247 crew, and whoever else fancies getting involved.

We’re going to be holding the first session next Wednesday, December 3, at 8.00pm UK time. We’re playing on PS4.

Matt’s put a playlist of five 30-player jobs together, affectionately titled “HDSQ week 1: Tons o’ Guns“. It should last about an hour (assuming the servers don’t blow up and kick everyone out every three minutes).

The playlist’s five jobs are Farmhouse Fracas (Team Deathmatch), GTA: Truck Buddies (Capture), Contend: Pier Shaped (Capture), Battle of Senora LTS (Last Team Standing) and Berth Brawl (Team Deathmatch).

A few notes. Firstly, you don’t need to be a HDSQ member to play, but you’ll be invited to join the session before anyone else if you are. You’ll also receive bonus RP and cash for playing with other crew members.

Secondly, the playlist lobby is limited to 30. We’ve no idea whether or not we’re going to fill it, but once it’s complete you’ll need to queue to get a slot.

Lastly, we will be using headsets. There’ll be no chat party, so everyone in the lobby will be able to hear anyone else using a mic. Any abusive voice activity will be rewarded with an instant kick. Play nicely, please.

How to join the session:

  • Send PSN friend requests to patlikefr and JeffLeppard.
  • Make sure you’re in a GTA Online session at 8.00pm UK time on Wednesday, December 3.
  • We’ll set up the playlist and send invites to all HDSQ crew members at 8.00pm UK time.
  • After that, we’ll send out a general friends invite.
  • Once we have enough players, off we go.

Bear with us while we figure out the best way to structure these sessions. We aren’t going to be streaming anything, but we may in the future if we can get it going properly. The plan is to run this weekly, so hopefully we can make it work!
