It appears that Square Enix is currently hard at work on a brand new title that isn’t a new Final Fantasy adventure, remake of a current game, or anything familiar for that matter.
Kotaku has brought a recent supposed Famitsu article link to our attention (via CS Blog) in which Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda has supposedly announced a “new role-playing game for home consoles that isn’t a remake.” Can’t get much more succinct than that, right? Mastoid continues in the article, explaining that “in December, [Square Enix] will start with making an announcement.”
In addition to whatever the company has planned, it appears there will also be a deluge of additional games coming in the future as well, which “starting early next year,” Matsuda says they will begin announcing, but “at this stage, [they] cannot say which will be for home consoles or portables.”
When the latest issue of Famitsu becomes available, hopefully all will be confirmed.
