MiniDayZ is a 2D, top-down remake of DayZ

MiniDayZ is a 2D, top-down take on DayZ that recently got the attention and blessing of DayZ developer Bohemia Interactive.

Unlike DayZ, it is single-player only, and it's played from a 2D, top-down perspective.

MinDayZ is made by CannedBits, a DayZ fan based in Russia and has since been praised by DayZ creator Dean "Rocket" Hall on Reddit.

"I have to say, I absolutely love MiniDayZ," wrote Hall. "I think it's awesome, amazing, addictive, and brings something really new to the experience.

"Ignore the haters. The vast majority of people think it's fantastic and I am one of those people."

Bohemia Interactive shares this opinion it seems, as the developer has dedicated sub-forum for it.

The game can be played in your browser through this link. The usual activities are all there, surviving, looking for food and water, punching zombies etc..
