GTA Online character transfers not working for those who haven't logged in since 2013

Those who've only played GTA Online when it came out last year are having trouble transferring their characters to Xbox One and PS4.

There have been reports overnight of users getting an error when trying to transfer their GTA Online character from the Xbox 360 or PS3 versions to the Xbox One or PS4 versions.

"No previous Grand theft Auto Online data is associated with your Social Club account," the error reads. Going back to the original console and trying to login there also doesn't work and throws a "Rockstar services are unavailable" error.

Rockstar is aware of the issue and has created a support page for it.

"We are urgently looking into an issue preventing character transfer and GTA Online login on accounts that haven’t played GTA Online since 2013," says Rockstar.

"If you would like to receive an automatic email notification as soon as there is more information, please log into the Support Site and click Subscribe at the top of this page. Apologies for any inconvenience caused, and thanks for your patience."
