Dragon Age: Inquisition not available in India due to country's obscenity laws

Dragon Age: Inquisition will not be released in India as a result of what EA calls the country's "obscenity laws".

Dna India has reported that the game will not be available for sale in the country due to the fact that it contains themes of homosexuality.

However, an EA representative later told Kotaku that having homosexual characters is "irrelevant".

"In order to avoid a breach of local content laws, EA has withdrawn Dragon Age: Inquisition from sale in India and the game is no longer available for pre-order. Customers who pre-ordered the game will be contacted directly and will be fully refunded," the statement reads.

"The decision here is in relation to local obscenity laws, but not specific to same gender romance."

Dragon Age: Inquisition, like many BioWare games, contains some sexual themes, both heterosexual and homosexual. And while EA's decision is understandable, censorship is not excusable.
