Dragon Age Inquisition guide and walkthrough part 6: Investigate the Western Approach

Go back to Skyhold

Be sure to get your power level up to 8 to continue, then fast travel back to Skyhold. Enter the war room, highlight Orlais and select ‘Investigate the Western Approach’.

Meet up with Stroud and Hawke

Talk to the Requisition Officer and read the Venatori missive on the table. Leave the camp to the south to seal the rift nearby, then continue southwards until you reach an area with a bunch of cages. Inspect the area in front of the first cage on the right and you’ll find a package label. Make your way into the mine to the north to pick up some loot, then return outside, and enter the mine to the right.

Have a mage energise the wood near the entrance to form a ramp so that you can enter, then go up, grab the loot at the top and carry on into the Forgotten Mine, to complete the Requisition Officer’s side quest.

In the first room, you’ll encounter giant spiders and find some loot. Continue down the leftern tunnel, dealing with hyena ambushes along the way, and proceed through the cave and to the west to pop back outside. At the exclamation point map marker, inspect the trail sign to initiate the ‘On the Chantry Trail’ side-quest.

Proceed along the path to the southwest, passing a couple of rifts and a landmark on the way, towards the map marker for the main story mission. When you arrive, you’ll trigger a cutscene, and then be set upon by some enemies.

Take them out, look around for the loot, pop to the landmark that’s just downstairs, then return to the war room at Skyhold.
