Sony handing out free premium DLC as atonement for DriveClub launch issues

Sony has announced it will offer DriveClub's premium November DLC packs for free to all who have purchased the game as compensation for server woes since launch.

Over on the official DriveClub Facebook page, Evolution Studios said it is working "diligently to resolve all of the server issues."

"We know you have all been extremely patient and understandably frustrated during DriveClub's launch, and to show our appreciation for the support during this challenging time, we will be offering the premium DLC packs for November free to those who purchased the full game."

The DLC packs include the Ignition Expansion Pack and Photo-Finish Tour Pack along with two livery packs which will provide players with five new cars, 22 new tour events, 10 new trophies and 10 new livery items to play with online and offline.

Sony will also extend the Season Pass to include four extra packs in July 2015 to ensure that those who purchased the pass will "get everything that was promised."

In short, along with the November DLC pack, the Season Pass will "still come" with 38 cars, 176 tour events and 80 unique liveries.

On a new game update will be released with player requested feature updates. These include Photo Mode, a Club Menu option to view all Club unlocks, and the following fixes: improved multiplayer collision physics to reduce frustrating spin-outs; adjustments to soften the corner cutting penalty system; and a fix to allow all club owners to update their club badges.

Finally, the update also contains the first new tracks announced back in September, which include the following free tracks for online and offline play: India – Yedepalli, Scotland – Wester Ross, and Chile – Los Pelambres.

An update regarding the launch of the PS Plus Edition was unavailable, as the server capacity is still being addressed.

The November DLC packs are scheduled for release on November 25 in North America, November 26 in Europe and November 27 in Japan.
