Infiltrate the Palace and find Elise before sneaking back out to see De La Serre.

The optional challenge in this mission should please stealth fans, as you’ll need to avoid detection in order to achieve it.
- Don’t get into conflict
Go to De La Serre’s Office
Your first objective is to enter De La Serre’s office, but there’s no rush; collect any nearby resources before heading to your objective marker.
Leave the Letter
You can’t enter the office but must instead wandered about the antechamber for a little bit until the door starts glinting gold, becoming an interactive object and triggering this objective update. Just approach to leave the letter, then watch the cutscene.
Infiltrate the Palace
As when infiltrating the estate in the last mission, you can cross the rooftops or use the crowds to reach your objective marker. Whichever you choose, you’ll need to hop through a window to get to your goal.
I hope you like walking around inside buildings, because that’s what we’re doing in order to find Elise. You need to be careful here; it’s the first real test of your stealth abilities, and you want that optional challenge, I assume. Make sure you read the tutorial prompts. There’s only one path forward, so use Eagle Vision to figure out the guards’ patrol routes and timing. They leave huge gaps, and if they spot you, just keep sneaking forward until you break line of sight, then take cover a short distance away, and with any luck you won’t end up in conflict.
Once you reach a balcony and watch a cut scene, you can stop worrying – the guests here won’t detect you. Steal everything that isn’t nailed down before you head for the marker once more.
Elise is back, but she hasn’t gotten any more interesting – at least, gameplay-wise. Trot along at her heels until you get another cutscene.
Sneak Out of the Palace
Turn on Eagle Vision as soon as you get control of Arno, then drop down to ground level. As before, you’ll need to watch the guards and take the opening in their movements to get by without being detected. You’ll do well to use cover in this area, but don’t come out of cover too early or within line of sight.
The mission ends when you get outside the Palace’s boundary and spot a figure in the distance. A cutscene ensues – and it’s a doozy.
