There's a lot more to Fire Emblem than 2011's Awakening

Fire Emblem was long known as "that Japanese strategy RPG the guys from Smash Bros. come from". Now that Fire Emblem: Awakening has put the franchise on everyone's radar, catch up on the franchise's history with the latest episode of Did You Know Gaming.

Several Fire Emblem games have released in the west over the years, but the series remains under-appreciated. Awakening has reignited interest in both Japan and the west just in time to save the franchise.

Previous games in the series have aged well thanks to the simple graphics and timelessness of its gameplay, so if anything you see here interests you it might be worth tracking down some of the older releases to give them a go. As the video below ably demonstrates, there's plenty to explore.
