First Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare reviews arrive ahead of embargo

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare reviews are embargoed for a few more hours, but copies are already in the wild and opinions are trickling in.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare releases on November 4, but the Day Zero edition is available on November 3 - which has already kicked off in some places around the world.

It looks like the servers have been up and running for a little while, as a couple of reviews have already surfaced encompassing single- and multiplayer.

The early reviews are based on retail copies that have slipped out ahead of official launch date. VideoGamer reports it was offered a review copy on release date, and instead opted to purchase its own copy and thereby avoid embargoes. Retailer ShopTo also picked up its own copy, possibly from its own stock.

Both sites had fairly positive reviews for the PS4 version, with VideoGamer awarding the shooter eight out of ten. There are also a few video reviews doing the rounds, although I haven't stumbled across any significant names yet.

Stay tuned for more reviews when the embargo lifts later today, and expect more detailed multiplayer analyses over the next week or so as the community comes online and the true test begins.
