DriveClub server update coming in the next 24 hours

DriveClub will be updated soon, hopefully quelling the server issues that have Evolution Studios contemplating player compensation.

The DriveClub Facebook page has been updated with a new statement on the racer's ongoing issues, which have cast a deep shadow over its launch.

"Continual upgrades to the DriveClub servers are building a steady increase in performance, meaning that we're getting more and more players connected," Evolution Studios wrote.

"The next server update is coming within 24 hours and will mean we can start to switch on more of the online features, so that you will be able to play more of DRIVECLUB online. We are sorry that we don't have more concrete news to share right now, but please be patient. We will have more information for you tomorrow."

Although performance has improved, a weekend Driveclub update didn't rectify the issues. Speaking with players on Twitter, game director Paul Rustchynsky said the server issues took the developer by surprise.

As a result of the problems, which have kept large numbers of players offline for the six days since the game's launch, Evolution is considering some sort of compensation.

Evolution has been admirably communicative throughout this period, and it's nice to see that many of the people tweeting at Rustchynsky are being civil about it. Single-player and some social features are still available, which helps.
