Xbox Live service is having issues, affecting game invites and friends

Xbox Live is currently suffering from some issues affecting both Xbox One an Xbox 360.
The Xbox Live status page says that the team is aware of the issues and promises another update in the next 30 minutes.
Affected Live services include friends functionality; such as being able to see what your friends are playing, sending or receiving game invites, reading or composing messages, or unlocking achievements.
