Gran Turismo 7 is coming to PS4 in 2015 or 2016

Gran Turismo developer Polyphony Digital has gone quiet following the announcement that a new Gran Turismo game will be coming to PlayStation 4 in 2014. Studio head Kazunori Yamauchi has broken the silence and talked a little bit about the next game in series in a recent interview.

Speaking to GamesTM magazine in an interview, Yamauchi talked about how difficult the PS3 was to work with, and how that completely changed with PS4.

"Everything will be running naturally," Yamauchi said about the PS4. "PS3 was much, much more difficult. The high quality of data that we have being rendered on the PS4 I think is going to make an incredible difference."

"For GT7, myself and my staff have a clear vision: to do everything we couldn't do in GT6," he added. "We want to make it very Gran Turismo. By that I mean it’s going to be a game that matches the very era that we live in, in 2015 or 2016."

Towards the end of last year, Yamauchi said that a new Gran Turismo game will be coming out in 2014, so 2015 or 2016 is quite the extension but not an unusual one for Polyphony Digital who tend to take their time making those games.
