Destiny beats Watch Dogs' UK launch record

Bungie's Destiny has become the biggest new IP launch in UK chart history, beating the record set by Watch Dogs earlier in the year.

According to official figures from Chart Track, 46 percent of sales were for the PS4 version of the the game and 36 percent for Xbox One.

Sales figures include those bundled with hardware but do not include digital downloads.

The Xbox 360 version of Destiny accounted for 14 percent and the PS3 only 3 percent of sales, according to Eurogamer.

Last week publisher Activision revealed it had shipped-in $500 million worth of Destiny product to retailers, although it is yet to announce solid units sales figures.
