Wasteland 2 guide: The World Map

Quite obviously, this is your party's way of navigating and getting around the Wasteland 2 world. As you enter it you'll get a call from the Citadel.

There are a number of important things to remember about the world map in Wasteland 2. Firstly, water should always be a priority. You'll see your water indicator in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. You being with full canteens for all your team, but you must keep an eye on their water at all times. Running out of water can be fatal.

You need to consider how much each move will cost you in terms of water consumption. When you move your cursor around the screen a small set of numbers will show you how much water it costs to make that move. You should also be careful that the fog of war covers unexplored locations.

You'll also need to keep close watch on the radiation meter in the bottom left of the HUD. Radiation can be a killer, so avoid where possible, or if you must go through a path that brings you close to radiation, be very careful.

One last tip: remember that you can also directly select a character's inventory by clock on the backpack above the radiation meter.

Now you can take a deeper look at the Party Map. Bring it up by clicking on the View Map button and it will show you any settlements you've marked and sites that you intend to explore for missions you're working on.

for this walkthrough we're selecting the Radio Tower that General Vargas marked for us. Click on it and choose travel on the right hand of the screen. There's an Oasis onthe way where you can refill your canteens.
