Bayonetta 2 release date, playable Rodin, Star Fox costume and more from latest Nintendo Direct

Bayonetta 2's Nintendo Direct gave us the one thing we really wanted to know. Plus: new trailer.

Bayonetta 2 releases exclusively for Wii U on October 24, Nintendo confirmed during the livestreamed presentation.

We already knew this was the case for North America but it's nice to have it confirmed for Europe.

Nintendo also showed off the online co-op mode, Tag Climax, which features six stages and multiple difficulty levels. Currency earned in this mode can be used in the single-player campaign, which will be handy if you need some new moves to meet the challenges presented by the notoriously tight Platinum action. Returning character Rodin will be playable; you don't all have to play as Bayonetta.

Other details from the stream include word that Bayonetta 2 will feature a Star Fox costume - Fox McCloud - as well as the costumes previously announced for the Wii U port of the first Bayonetta game. That's Link, Peach, Daisy and Samus, to remind you.

Why am I still talking? Here's the new trailer.

Next up, take a look at the First Print Edition - the physical release bundling both Bayonetta games.

Finally, here's the full Nintendo Direct presentation is below that, in case you missed it.
