Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare adds Supply Drops to existing systems to make multiplayer progress more diverse.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare multiplayer uses the same XP system as previous games, but Supply Drops add a little more colour, granting a random selection of gear and goodies.
