Sony's packing up PlayStation Home in Japan come March

Sony hasn't supported PlayStation Home with new content in Japan for quite some time, and yesterday it announced it will shutter the social service come March 2015.

According to the notice from PlayStation Japan (via Kotaku), Sony will no longer be selling content after a maintenance period come September 24.

The service will go out with a bang though, as "large scale events" are planned for those who still use the service.

SCEE and SCEA will remain up and running, according to the announcement. The only regions affected are Asia and Japan.

Personally, I can only recall using PlayStation Home once when I first purchased my PS3. I honestly can't remember if I ever logged into it again.
