Would you watch this Resident Evil TV series?

Resident Evil is the basis for a new TV series concept being batted around by a media company known for 4K films.

The Resident Evil-inspired series is called "Arklay" - the mountainous region to the north west of Raccoon City, home to the Arklay Mansion and Arklay Laboratories.

According to a description on the Mance Media website, Arklay is a scripted survival horror series starring detective James Reinhardt, who investigates "the mysterious homicides of Raccoon City".

"The city is hiding a dark conspiracy. Learning a fatal virus is connected to it all, Reinhardt discovers it's already coursing through him. With time no longer on his side, he must solve the conspiracy to save his own life," the description says.

The project appears to be in the conceptual stages only, with a 2015 release date. Below you can see a proof-of-concept pitch video using footage from various series; the production company would use this to give an idea of the show's feel to potential buyers - and maybe to Capcom itself, if it is yet to acquire the rights.

Would you watch such a show if it turned up on your idiot box?

Thanks, Joystiq.
