World of Warcraft wants to give you a corgi

World of Warcraft is ten years old, so here's a present: the Internet's best-loved dog. Oh bless.

To celebrate World of Warcraft's tenth anniversary in November, Blizzard is hosting a number of special events and offering one very special reward.

The first event is a "Team Deathmatch–style Battleground" based on the famous Tarren Mill and Southshore tug of war, which occupied many an early PvPer.

"Unlike the old days of Tarren Mill vs. Southshore, there will be a clearly defined victor, so you’ll need to work as a team or face crushing defeat," Blizzard said.

In a similar spirit, Molten Core is getting a revamp. This raid is many players' first experience, but a few levels later it goes out of rotation. Blizzard is planning a special 40-player Raid Finder version for max-level characters, allowing them to relive their glory days. If you succeed in hunting down Ragnaros, you'll earn an achievement and a Core Hound mount reward.

If neither of these appeal to you, don't worry - absolutely everyone who logs in during the celebrations will receive a new pet, the Molten Corgi. Just look at it. My heart is melting.

Blizzard has promised more information closer to kick off in a few months, so stay tuned to Battle.net.
