R-Type Dimensions release date announced for PS3

R-Type Dimensions will be released on the PlayStation Store later this month for PlayStation 3, Tozai Games has announced.

The release includes a fully-remastered R-Type, with all eight original R-Type levels, and R-Type 2, featuring all six original levels.

Both games have been given updated HD graphics, new audio tracks, and the option to switch between new hi-res 2D/3D graphics, or play the classic versions.

New features such as Infinite Mode and Level Select have been added to allow newcomers the ability to learn the levels and it also includes couch co-op.

A slow motion play function, controller key configuration, worldwide leaderboards, player statistics, and PS3 Trophies are also included.

R-Type Dimensions will release in North America on the PS Store May 20 and in Europe on May 21.
