Halo TV show could air on cable network Showtime before Xbox formats - report

Microsoft Entertainment's Halo television series could air on American cable network Showtime ahead of Xbox formats, according to a new report.

It follows this video of a man beating the Halo: Combat Evolved speed record. He completed it in under 100 minutes on Hardest difficulty and is clearly some kind of warlock.

Now, Variety is reporting that Xbox Entertainment Studios is negotiating with Showtime to bring Halo to cable, and that the series has been in development now for over a year in conjunction with Spielberg's Amblin TV banner.

Apparently, the deal with Showtime has taken so long as both Microsoft and the network are entering uncharted waters with Halo, as it combines episodes with interactive features on Xbox formats. According to the site, unnamed sources have suggested that the series could air on Showtime ahead of Xbox Live.

It's unclear when the show will air, but with E3 2014 looming we could be on the cusp of an announcement. Keep the faith people.
