OneBigGame, the non-profit publisher, has announced the third title to be published under the label and it's a David Perry-directed iOS game titled SXPD: The Rookie.

Developed specifically for OneBigGame’s charity initiative, SXPD was developed by Little Chicken Game Company in collaboration with graphic novel writer and artist Duke Mighten.

The game is described as comic book-game hybrid and it's set to launch on iPad globally in May.

Here's the synopsis:

"The game revolves around the adventures of the SXPD, a female-only police department battling the forces of evil in the fantastical city of New Royale. The app can best be described as the world’s first true comic book game and sees state of the art comic book pages transform seamlessly into hi-octane racing game action and vice versa."

“We are extremely proud of how SXPD has turned out,” commented Martin de Ronde of OneBigGame. "When David first pitched the idea to us as a project for OneBigGame, I was expecting something special, but it’s turned into something even more unique, a great new addition to the OneBigGame catalogue.”

“When OneBigGame asked me to contribute to their charity initiative, I took inspiration from my favorite 8-bit game of all time, 3D Deathchase on the ZX Spectrum”, said David Perry. “This game is a tribute to that masterpiece as well as a unique game in its own right, bringing together comic books and games in a new way.”

Net proceeds generated by the game will be provided to OneBigGame, which disperse the funds among official charity partners.
