Yo-kai Watch 2 announced by Level-5 in the latest issue of CoroCoro

Yo-kai Watch 2, the sequel to the first title, has been announced by Level-5 in the latest issue of CoroCoro magazine.

Similar to the first entry (Yōkai Wotchi in Japan), players will be collecting and training ghosts and monsters from folklore and in the upcoming title, Keita returns with the power of a mysterious ghost.

Keita will travels back in time with friends to the Sakura New Town of the Showa era, where Keizo, a boy from the past who looks like Keita is resent along with his cat ghost Dekanyan which harbors a secret.

Yo-kai Watch 2 will reveal the origin of Keita's watch and new events will take place along with bicycle races.

The game will release July 10 in Japan and will come in two versions: Yo-kai Watch 2: Ganso (Founder) and Yo-kai Watch 2: Honke (Head).

A western release wasn't mentioned, but there is still hope the first title will eventually leave Japan.
