Stronghol Kingdoms has been updated with a new content drop called Fourth Age, which introduces some significant changes to the formula.

The Fourth Age introduces gunpowder, which obviously means some big changes for warfare.

On the defensive side, players can take advantage of the bombard. It fires randomly but does splash damage.

To access the bombard, you'll need the Military School, a new building.

There have also been changes to the core ruleset, including an increase in the total number of castles that can be owned by players, faster army speeds, the disbanding of all in-game Factions and more.

Full update details can be had on the game's forums.
