Dota 2: The International 2014 moving to July, new venue - report

Dota 2's major annual tournament, The International, will reportedly see some changes to the formula this year.

OnGamers cites anonymous sources from several Dota 2 teams for word that The International will take place in July this year, as opposed to August as in previous years, and will not be held in its usual venue of Benaroya Hall.

The credibility of the report has been heightened by comments from Gabe Newell in a Reddit AMA today, in which he said the tournament would likely take place at Seattle's Key Arena.

The date change has caused something of a shuffle of major internaitonal events, with Major League Gaming telling OnGamers that its Anaheim Dota 2 event may be cancelled.

Representatives of MLG, the Electronic Sports League, Dreamhack and various high-ranked teams are said to have met to discuss a solution, as too many events in close succession is difficult for players.
