Get Pokémon X or Pokémon Y free for registering a 3DS system and a select title

Nintendo has announced 2DS, 3DS and 3DS XL owners will be handed a free code for Pokémon X or Pokémon Y after a Toys R Us ad popped up at the end of last week.

Those who people who register a Nintendo 2DS, 3DS or 3DS XL as well as one of six select games through Club Nintendo, will receive a free code to download either Pokémon X or Pokémon Y.

The six participating games are as previously reported: one of six games: Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land or Yoshi’s New Island.

The system and game must be registered between March 1 and March 31 and download codes for Pokémon X or Pokémon Y must be redeemed by May 31.

Each game and system can be purchased at any retailer in North America, not just Toys R Us.
