Eight teams from across the region will compete for a prize pool of $15,000 and the chance to represent the region at the Global Final.

The Call of Duty Championship final will be held in Hollywood from March 28 through 30, with 32 teams from around the world battling for a prize pool of $1 million.

The local event is to be held at the Carriageworks in Sydney on March 1, and is a joint effort from Major League Gaming and the Australian Cyber League.

Shoutcasters for the event include Machinima eSports head and professional Call of Duty caster Ryan "Fwiz" Wyatt; MLG programming vice president and professional gaming commentator Chris Puckett; and Australia's own Dallas "Bio Acid" O’Donnell.

Only two of the eight teams present will advance to the final so it's sure to be a tense event. You can register for a free pass, but note that it's a 15+ event requiring ID, and only those who have successfully registered will be admitted. Happily, MLG will stream the whole show.
