Little Tail Story is Cyberconnect2's latest Namco Bandai project

Remember how Namco Bandai started teasing the latest CyberConnect2 title, and I was all "ha ha, imagine if it was some kind of successor to Tail Concerto and Solatorobo; that will never happen furries, sit yourself down". Well! I'm delighted to report how completely wrong I was about that.

Siliconera reports the smartphone RPG is coming to Japan in northern spring.

Telling the story of rival nations of cat and dog people, Little Tail Story has players putting together parties with friends to tackle quests.

Like Youkai Watch, players use the touch screen to rotate through party members in an active command-based combat situation. The key to success is combining attacks, and full-party attacks are possible.

Players can upgrade their equipment, which is important as they'll face increasingly challenging bosses. Item synthesis, job changes and levelling are also featured. Classes include Swordsman, Knight, Guardian, Warrior and Mage, and each job class has its own unique skills. Multi classing will produce characters with a variety of skills.

Anyway, here's a trailer, and congratulations to everyone holding out hope through 300 Naruto games that CyberConnect2 would go back to anthropomorphic animals. No word on western release yet, of course.
