League of Legends attracts 27 million players each day

League of Legends developer Riot Games has quietly announced an almost ridiculous new set of usage statistics, including word that the free-to-play MOBA brings in 27 million players every single day.

The figures come via Wall Street Journal, but were apparently handed over by Riot, not a third party.

The developer said League of Legends' daily player base has more than doubled from the 12 million it recorded in October 2012 to 27 million.

Concurrent users have peaked as high as 7.5 million, a 50% increase from the 5 million announced in March 2013.

Riot said recently it expects League of Legends to last for decades, although it'll have to do something about getting caught in porn filters if it really wants to get somewhere.
