Chillingo founders leave EA for reasons unknown

Chillingo founders Chris Byatte and Joe Wee have left EA and the company they founded in 2005 behind.

MCV reports that both Byatte and Wee have departed Chillingo and EA. We have dropped them a line to get more details, and a company rep told VG247, "I can confirm that Chris and Joe have left EA and Chillingo but other than that there is no further statement from us at this time."

It follows the high-profile departure of PopCap CEO Dave Roberts, who announced his retirement last week, leaving John Vechey in the role.

Last week we reported that Criterion Games founders Alex Ward and Fiona Sperry also flew EA's coop last week to set up their own studio.

We'll have more on this one as it comes. Stay tuned.
