Sonic: Lost World Wii U update restores 100 ring 1UP system

Sonic: Lost World contains a grievous oversight which has been corrected by a much-requested patch.

According to the Sega Blog, a title update for the Wii U version of the platformer has brought about something that ought to have been in there right from the start: an extra life whenever you collect 100 rings. About time, too.

This ought to help with some of the game's notorious difficulty spikes, and Sega has also doubled the number of lives a player receives when opting to continue after a game over screen.

The patch includes a couple of other fixes and changes; hit the link above for more detailed notes.

Sonic: Lost World is also available on 3DS.
