GDC 2014 adds sessions from Brenda Romero, Ubisoft's Patrick Redding

GDC 2014 organizers have announced UC Santa Cruz's Brenda Romero will provide a session in which she will discuss "re-inspiring designers for greatness," along with a talk from Ubisoft's Patrick Redding.

Brenda Romero's sessions is titled "Jiro Dreams of Game Design." Inspired by the movie "Jiro Dreams of Sushi", Romero will share "how to achieve such goals, especially when shipping games often means compromising on an ideal vision."

Patrick Redding, Ubisoft's game director for Splinter Cell: Blacklist, will hots a talk titled "Make Things Worse: Enabling Setbacks for Consequential Play." In it, he will discuss why players should "suffer occasional setbacks in stealth games."

Also announced was a talk from Lucien Parsons titled: "Why'd She Buy THAT? Customer Psychology in Game Purchases." In it, Parsons will discuss pricing and marketing strategies as well as the psychology behind buying habits of men and women in games.

Previously announced production and design track talks include sessions Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Skylanders Swap Force, and Dragon Age developers.

GDC 2014 takes place March 17-21 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco.
