PS4 controller interface is for the 'hardest of hardcore' and first-timers, says House

PlayStation 4's DualShock 4 controller and camera combination will appeal to the 'hardest of hardcore' players, as well as giving first-time console buyers a smooth entry into the format, according to Sony's Andrew House.

Speaking with JeuxVideo, House started by hailing PS4 as a high-value proposition, thanks to the competitive console price and the raft of games that is sure to follow.

He then said of the controller set-up, "We feel that we have developed a controller interface that is equal accessible to the hardest of hardcore gamers who will get the fullest benefits out of their gaming experiences, but when used in combination with the camera or using the touch pad, is very very easily accessible even to the person that is playing games for the first time."

Using both the DualShock 4 and PlayStation Camera in tandem will likely result in a broad spectrum of experience for the core and casual markets - for lack of better terms.

It follows Pat's appraisal of the PS4 hardware and UI. Read what he thought through the link.
