LEGO The Hobbit confirmed for Spring 2014 on multiple platforms, first screens inside

LEGO The Hobbit has been confirmed by publisher Warner Bros. It's coming to Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, Wii U, PS Vita and 3DS in Spring 2014. We've got the first screens here.

In a press release sent to VG247, Warner confirmed that the game will cover the first two films in The Hobbit trilogy, An Unexpected Journey and Desolation of Smaug. It'll follow Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf, Thorin and chums as they battle across Erebor.

Other characters include the rest of the dwarves Fíli, Kíli, Óin, Glóin, Dwalin, Balin Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Dori, Nori and Ori, each with their own special moves. Bombur's gut can be used as a make-shift trampoline, for one. Together they'll journey through High Pass, The Misty Mountains, Goblin-town, Mirkwood and Rivendell.

In a statement, Managing director of Traveller's Tales Tom Stone said of the announcement, “We are thrilled to depict the characters and environments of Peter Jackson’s Middle-earth in LEGO form with the LEGO The Hobbit videogame. “Our family-friendly take on these thrilling adventures will have kids and parents playing and laughing together as they build and explore in LEGO Middle-earth.”
