Skylanders Swap Force PS4 and Xbox One release dates presage both consoles

Skylanders Swap Force arrives for next-gen systems in North America before either system makes it to market.

Activision will release both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Skylanders Swap Force in North America on November 12.

The release has been brought forward from an expected launch alongside the consoles - the PS4 on November 15 and the Xbox One on November 22.

No word yet on European launch dates.

Skylanders Swap Force is already available on 3DS, PS3, Wii, Wii U and Xbox 360. It's main differentiator from past Skylanders games is that some figurines can be taken apart into two pieces and recombined, granting different combinations of powers for use in-game.

In a press release, Activision described the next-gen versions as featuring "an all new graphics engine that delivers high-resolution visuals that bring to life amazingly detailed characters and richer environments to deliver a high level of visual fidelity that immerse players in the game like never before". It runs in native 1080p on both consoles.
