Satellite Reign: Syndicate Wars successor used PlayStation Eye cameras for mo-cap, video inside

Satellite Reign developer 5 Lives has published a new dev diary that touches on the Kickstarter-funded strategy title's motion-capture techniques. It shows how the team tried to use Kinect sensors and ultimately rested on PlayStation Eye devices to track actors and represent them in the game.

The game was successfully funded on Kickstarte to the tune of £461,333, and is helmed by Syndicate Wars creator Mike Diskett.

I interviewed Diskett earlier this year about how the game will re-capture the true spirit of the classic Syndicate series and how his team will use modern techniques to advance the format.

What do you make of the mo-cap above? Pretty clever isn't it?
