Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance special edition revealed

Platinum Games' Raiden-focused franchise spin-off Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is getting a special edition. It'll include the main game, alongside all DLC, bonus Raiden skins, and a custom PS3 theme. It's due out in Japan on December 5.

The news comes via Japanese site 4Gamer, linked to on Twitter by Platinum's Game Director Kenji Saito (@PG_saito).

It's all in Japanese, of course, but from what I can glean the special edition will package in the game's three DLC packs, which are VR Missions, Jetstream Sam, and Bladewolf. It'll also include 5 skins for Raiden, which are Cyborg Ninja, MGS4 Raiden, White Armour, Inferno Armour, and Commando Armour, plus a nifty Raiden statue. You'll also get a PS3 custom theme.

Basically, it's a retail release of the digital Ultimate Edition. There's no word of the Special Edition being released outside of Japan just yet, and it seems to be PS3 only. The game didn't release on Xbox 360 over there, after all. In the mean time, PS3 owners can wait until November when Metal Gear Rising will be free with PS Plus.
