Elite: Dangerous Oculus Rift support confirmed

Elite: Dangerous studio Frontier Developments has announced that its Kickstarter-funded space sim will feature Oculus Rift VR support.

In a press release sent to VG247 today, the UK-based studio confirmed that the Oculus-enabled edition of Elite: Dangerous will be made available to all Kickstarter backers at no extra charge.

David Braben, CEO of Frontier said in a statement, “We’ve been playing with the Oculus Rift dev kits and are excited about the potential – just glancing around your cockpit or being totally immersed in a space battle. Many of our backers have made it clear that they would like Oculus Rift support – and so do we! We’re very pleased with the results so far.”

The game's out 2014 and you can check out some combat concept footage here.
