Monster Hunter 4 retains top spot on Media Create charts, 3DS surpasses Wii lifetime sales

Monster Hunter 4 was once again the clear winner on the Media Create charts in Japan, moving 473,739 units for the week. The game debuted on September 14 in the region, and moved 1,715,060 in just a little over a day. Lifetime sales so far have hit 2,188,799 for the 3DS title. The only hardware systems to show growth were 3DS, Wii, Wii U, and Xbox 360. All increases were slight, expect for the latter which moved 610 units compared to last week's 244 units. The week also marks a milestone for 3DS: its lifetime sales reached 12,752,731 surpassing Wii sales of 12,698,878 in the region.
