Tropico 4 The Academy DLC now available

There's a new DLC pack out for city-builder and management sim Tropico 4, challenging players with unusually high levels of rebel activity but kitting them out with new military resources to combat the strife.

Available now on PC (£3.50/€4) and Xbox 360 (£3.50/€4.80), The Academy includes military insurgences, something players can usually avoid altogether with careful management - so should provide a different kind of challenge.

"Due to a budget SNAFU (for which Penultimo is not responsible), the remote island of Isla Guerra is revolting against El Presidente’s regime. Tropico needs to recruit skilled cadets via the new East Point Academy and prepare for a large scale assault by an invading enemy army," the official blurb advises.

Here's the new content break down, and you can check out some new screens below.

  • New building: East Point Academy (provides college and military education, cadets are skilled soldiers and generals)
  • New trait: East Point Graduate (enemies are always killed and not wounded by El Presidente in combat)
  • New outfit: East Point Cadet (female avatar)
  • New mission: Peace, Love and Understanding – Repel a large scale foreign invasion
