Ghost Recon movie to be scripted by Zorro reboot, Y: The Last Man writers

Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia have been brought on board the Ghost Recon film.

The news comes via Variety, which reports the project is being accelerated since Michael Bay agreed to direct it

Federman and Scaia are wrapping up the script for a movie based on the graphic novel Y: The Last Man for New Line, and and were also behind a script for a Zorro reboot from Sony Pictures. The were supervising producers on ABC's Charlie's Angels series, and write for Fox's Human Target series.

The Ghost Recon film is in the works at Warner Bros. following a deal with Ubisoft Motion Pictures, which is financing script development - presumably so it can maintain creative control.

The Ghost Recon series has sold over 24 million copies worldwide since 2001.
