Vagrant Story creator working on two new strategy titles for mobile

Vagrant Story and Tactics Ogre creator Yasumi Matsuno has confirmed he is working on a pair of strategic titles for mobile formats under the banner name 'Unsung Story'.

Polygon reports that the first game is a tactical card title in developed with input from French board game designer Christophe Boelinger. it is an offshoot to the second game, which serves as the core of Unsung Story's universe and lore.

The titles are being created in conjunction with California-based studio Playdek, which is known for creating digital versions of table-top games, notably: Ascension, Agricola and Summoner Wars.

Unsung Story's card game will launch in 2014 and Matsuno will largely work on designing and fleshing out the series' world of Rasfalia. It's a fantasy realm with a medieval twang, and is "where knights, wizards, archers and magical creatures roam a lush landscape that holds the secret stories of more than half a century of bloody war."

The central hero is said to be a minor cog in a larger conflict, rather than a world-saving superhero. Matsuno said that this is key to his design philosophy.
