More DC games on the way, Time Warner boss hints

Warner Bros. has even bigger plans for its DC Comics licenses than just the Batman: Arkham games, apparently.

"The new franchises that we are going to be zoning are going to be DC franchises," Time Warner CEO Kevin Tsujihara said at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference, as transcribed by Yahoo Finance.

"We think there is big opportunities to build off of what we are doing throughout the rest of the company in games as well."

Tsujihara said Time Warner, which owns Warner Bros. Games and DC Comics as well as a sprawling entertainment and media empire, is "by far the biggest" and "probably the only studio" to be making money from games.

"It’s a business that we’ve built from scratch with some acquisition but we have really three key franchises to date. It’s the LEGO franchise, it’s the Mortal Kombat franchise, and it’s the Arkham Batman franchise, those three are very significant," he said.

"We are having a very good year. We have two more big games coming out, LEGO Marvel coming out as well as the next installation of the Batman Arkham series coming out in October as well."

As Kotaku notes, it's funny to hear the company that owns DC talking about success with a licensed Marvel game, but Warner Bros. holds the Lego license.
