Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn PS3 to PS4 transfer will be free, but will result in loss of PS3 login rights

Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn players on PS3 will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 4 version for free, but in the process, players will lose the login rights to the PS3 version.

Speaking with Famitsu, the game's producer and director Naoki Yoshida said that in order to keep the upgrade free, the firm decided to go with a rights transfer as the proper option.

Once the players makes the switch, the login rights will be bound to the PS4 version, so if they want to play the game on both machines, they will need to own two copies of the game.

Upon release, the PS4 version of the game will be presented in full 1920 x 1080p resolution and will contain keyboard and mouse support, as well as use the DualShock 4's touch pad as a mouse - like one would a laptop.

Yoshida expects to be able to show the PS4 version for the first time around the end 2013, and it will be "indistinguishable from the PC version," according to the article.
